SEIU6 Worker Power Committee Mission & Vision
SEIU6 is a multi-ethnic organization made primarily of immigrants and BIPOC communities and is proud to have the most diverse membership and leadership in the labor movement. In 2013 we made history by initiating, funding, and coordinating a successful ballot initiative campaign in SeaTac, WA, resulting in the nation’s first $15 minimum wage.
We are actively anti-racist, LGBTQIA+ allies, strong proponents of workers’ rights and immigrant rights, and expect the same of all candidates we support. Our members value transparency and follow through. Transparency in fundraising, policy positions, possible influences, and values. Follow through on promises, collaboration, and action.
The Worker Power Committee (WPC) is made up of union members who determine the political agenda for SEIU6 through meetings held quarterly. Decisions are made by members, for members and based on the needs and morals of members and their communities.
The WPC hosts a Spring Conference and Summer Happy Hour for annual contributors to the Worker Power Fund.

BEATING CORPORATE GREED WITH WORKER POWER
Why is our union involved in politics? Because we build POWER through politics!
Without SEIU6 members getting into politics, we wouldn’t have made history by winning the first $15 minimum wage in the country.
Corporations and billionaires have unlimited funds to support candidates that will do anything to take away all we fought for.
With just $5 per paycheck, we can make sure OUR voices are heard!
“If they don’t give you a seat at the table, bring a folding chair.”
